Kefir is packed full of nutrition. It has plentiful amounts of calcium and phosphorus and is a great source of vitamin B12, riboflavin (B2), vitamin D & magnesium. Kefir is a much more powerful probiotic than any yoghurt! It contains over 30 strains of powerful, good bacteria and friendly yeasts, making it a very rich and diverse probiotic source. It is ideal for helping to treat yeasty dogs as the strains of friendly will overcome the bad strains causing the issues. The good bacteria balances the gut and helps with all sorts of digestive disorders such as IBS and Crohn’s Disease. It also improves the immune system, as 70% of this is housed in the gut, and is effective in reducing inflammatory reactions and allergies.
Kefir helps to improve bone health and density because it is rich in both calcium & vitamin K2. This vitamin plays a major role in calcium metabolism and studies have proved an 81% reduction in fractures when supplementing with it.
