Komodo CaCo3 Sand Terrain provides a vibrant and functional calcium carbonate substrate designed specifically for desert dwelling reptiles. Made from 100 percent natural calcium carbonate, this premium sand terrain is widely used to replicate arid desert environments inside your terrarium or vivarium. Unlike traditional silica sands which can cause severe health risks if accidentally swallowed, calcium carbonate is a digestible material that breaks down more safely inside the animal's digestive tract to reduce the chance of gut impaction. How To Use

Thoroughly clean and dry the floor of your vivarium or terrarium before adding the new sand. Pour the substrate into the enclosure, spreading it evenly to create a layer approximately two to five centimetres deep depending on your reptile's size and burrowing habits. Spot clean the sand terrain daily by scooping out any soiled patches or waste material to maintain a fresh environment. Perform a complete substrate change every four to six weeks, or sooner if required, to ensure optimal hygiene for your animals. Avoid feeding your pets directly on the sand to further minimize any unnecessary substrate ingestion.
