How To Use

Install the bulb by screwing it firmly into a heavy duty ceramic E27 screw fitting or a deep reflector dome capable of handling high wattages. Because mercury vapour bulbs generate intense heat and require stable electrical currents they must never be connected to a thermostat or electronic dimmer switch as this will cause the lamp to fail. Position the fixture directly over your designated basking site ensuring it stands completely vertical. Maintain a safe minimum distance of at least twenty centimeters between the bulb surface and your pet to protect them from thermal burns. Allow the lamp to run continuously during daylight hours. If the power is interrupted remember that mercury vapour technology requires a cooling period of approximately fifteen minutes before it can safely restart.
